My basic research interest is plant genetic diversity. Genetic variation is an important part of biological diversity due to it’s contribution to population and species viability. With my research team, we investigate genetic diversity and differentiation of plant populations in various complicated genera, i.e. Rhinanthus and Carex, as well as the orchid genera Dactylorhiza and Gymnadenia. We explore the factors influencing genetic diversity and clarify systematics using the molecular-genetic analysis with DNA microsatellites.
