Every few years, the PhD students from the botany department have a chance to participate in a field course about plant geography. They travel to Tenerife in the Canary Islands to learn about the formation and history of the islands vegetation, learn about vegetation zonation, and practice different field work methods. This April, our PhD students Slendy, Bruno and Oscar participated in the course together with seven other doctoral students. From our workgroup, also Ene participated as one of the teachers. The students had a great time learning about the ecology and evolution of Tenerife's biodiversity, and doing field work for the new TraitDivNet project.
