Virtual spring seminar

On 6th May we held our spring seminar together with the Landscape Biodiversity workgroup. When in previous years our spring seminar has taken place in Laelatu in western Estonia, where we also get to enjoy some spring nature, then this year we had to meet virtually. But this didn't stop us from discussing some exciting scientific ideas! This time our seminar topic was "(Almost) impossible ideas in ecology" and we had six presentations describing ideas how to use new methodology (deep learning) and increasing amount of ecological data to better predict the effects of global change on ecological communities, and how to improve our ability to protect and restore nature in the future.
