In search of a better knowledge about plant functional traits, many of our workgroup members did summer fieldwork in Estonia as part of the TraitDivNet project. Combating hot weather, mosquitos, and hard ground, they visited many different sites across Estonia to gather leaf and root samples for trait measurements. After many weeks and broken shovels, samples of more than 200 plant species were gathered and analysed in lab. The mission will continue in other parts of the world in the future.
