Our workgroup PhD students Slendy, Oscar and Bruno participated in the science expedition to Réunion island on 7th-24th November. The expedition was organised by the Doctoral School of Earth Sciences and Ecology, and its aim is to allow doctoral students gain experience in planning and executing field work in tropical regions, meet local scientists and students from other departments. In addition to getting to know the island and its flora during excursions, the students also carried out field work according to their planned projects. Aurèle and Meelis also participated in the expedition as organisers and supervisors.
