We are happy to welcome Jing Yang, our new visiting research fellow in functional ecology! She was also visiting us in March-May, but now is staying for a longer time. Jing completed her PhD at East China Normal University, where her research focused on investigating the effects of functional traits and phenotypic plasticity on competition and species coexistence through greenhouse experiments. In the macroecology workgroup she works with Carlos and other workgroup members to expand her previous research to a broader spatial scale, exploring the relationship between functional trait variation, community assembly, and species coexistence.
