We are excited to welcome Jing Yang who is visiting our workgroup from March to May 2024. Jing is a postdoctoral fellow at East China Normal University. In her research together with Professor Guochun Shen, she delves into "The impact of variable functional traits on competition and species coexistence". During her stay, Jing will work with Carlos and other workgroup members to explore the intricate dynamics of functional trait spaces—both above and below ground—and their effects on plant competition. Recently, Jing and Carlos have co-authored a study "Inverse relationship between species competitiveness and intraspecific trait variability may enable species coexistence in experimental seedling communities", which has been accepted for publication by Nature Communications.
