From our workgroup, Slendy participated in the workshop with a presentation on the topic \"Intraspecific hydraulic trait variation influences plant growth in Colombian Tropical Dry Forest\".&nbsp;She evaluated the relationships between biomass growth and wood anatomical traits related to the hydrualic safety and efficiency trade-off. This evaluation was at the individual level, intraindividual level, and intraspecific level.&nbsp;In general, the significant relationships found were weak, but at&nbsp;intraspecific&nbsp;level,&nbsp;some relations show the importance of the fiber wall, vessel density and vessel area for the growth of some native species of the Colombian Tropical Dry Forest.&nbsp; Finally, only in one community out of 10, the funcional redundancy showed that the greater the similarity of hydraulic traits within-species, the lower their growth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This study was done within the framework of Slendy's internship in Colombia, which was supported by the Dora Plus scholarship.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The INTECOL 2022 conference took place in Geneva, Switzerland on Aug 28 - Sep 2.
